ABOUT ME

I'm Lex, a jack of all trades but master of none. I'm adventurous, spontaneous, vivacious, and free-spirited. Although I tend to take things lightly, I do have a serious and professional side. Respect is my biggest virtue and I try to be as empathetic and understanding as possible without being a doormat. If I'm not laughing, I'm observing the world.

PHILOSOPHY

The older I get, the more I'm convinced mankind was meant to be co-dependent and compassionate with one another and the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Locally, I've couchsurfed quite a bit since I was 14. Great times getting to know my friends and their environments, especially when the bonds turn into a family-like one.

Interests

Music, literature, psychology, cooking, meditating, researching, learning, people watching, writing, noticing intricacies. taking random pictures of the world around me. enjoying nature. late nights and early mornings at the beach. I wonder constantly. love tattoos and any sort of art.

Music, Movies, and Books

I absolutely adore music of all genres, but I am inclined towards rock, indie, and blues.

My faves consist of: Muse, Marilyn Manson, Led Zeppelin, The Neighbourhood, Cream, Primus, She Wants Revenge, Radiohead, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Dinah Washington, Nas, The Meteors, Iggy & The Stooges, Demented Are Go, Muddy Waters, Bad Brains, The Ramones, Nine Inch Nails, Incubus, Violent Femmes, Thee Oh Sees, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, No Doubt, original Sublime, Zombie Ghost Train, System of A Down, Buena Vista Social Club, Children of Bodom, The Beach Boys, and a whole bunch of others haha

Movies, ehhhh. I'm mostly into comedies, slasher/gore films, disaster, and "mind-fuck" movies.

Books are difficult to pinpoint, though I enjoy Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Homer, and Dante, to name a few. Thought-provoking concepts catch the reader in me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving and sea cruising. If I could jump out of planes on a weekly basis, how would I ever scorn existence again?

Teach, Learn, Share

What brought me here was not only my lifelong adoration of travel, but also my inclination to see, absorb and write. I realized what I wish to do and it all goes hand in hand; I would like to travel all over the US to observe how and what the public school systems teach, so I can ultimately piece together what works and provide a better all-around education for the general populace. I strongly believe we're on the verge of an awakening, and it would benefit humankind if the younger generations took it upon themselves to get into a new societal routine that may steer them [and future generations] away from most of the biggest mistakes our predecessors made, for our species and all the living organisms in the world. And so here I am, couchsurfing to see how I can impact the world :)
