ABOUT ME

I just graduated in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) and I am now I'm traveling since august 2008. I'm gonna be gone for 1 year total. And I love it till now! I love meeting new people and get new experiences.
I lived the last 7 years in Amsterdam with 8 good roommates. That was a lot of fun. There was always something going on. So I guess I could descripe myself as a social person. I love hanging around with my friends and roommates. I love company and spending too much time just talking! Hahah!

I started travelling in Vancouver. Till now I really loved my 6 weeks around Banff and Jasper. As a city girl I was amazed by the mountains and nature. And I got lucky enough to become good friends with some locals of Jasper. They took me up for hiking, overnight hiking, staying at some lodges in the middle of nowhere. And they took me for snowshoeing and skiing. I love the outdoors! I really discovered it now, and I want to do as much as possible this year. Wauw! What a difference compared to my live in Amsterdam! My friends should see me here!

Also a really cool experience was going to Nunavut and I got to know a little bit more about the Inuit lifestyle.

And I just stayed for 6 weeks in Yellowknife, which was an amazing couchsurf experience. Great people! I ended up being a handler at a dogkennel for 3 weeks. So I was kind of introduced to dogsledging, which was one of the things I really wanned to do this year. I love animals. So I might look for another job like that this year.

My next mission: New Foundland! Sounds sweet! What I've seen and read about it till now.... can't wait to get there!

I love the outdoors, but.. of course I lived in Amsterdam. So I love going out too, when I get the chance. I like dancing, going to bars, and I really like listening to live bands. I could just spending a whole night chatting, listening to music with my friends.

In Amsterdam I used to sport a lot with my student clubs. I played a lot volleyball and fitness. Every year we had a new team. So I loved to get close friends with new team mates. And with that, there were a lot of partys going on too. Going to live music in amsterdam, shopping, and going to clubs.

So basicly: outdoors, sport, music, dancing, shopping, and always looking for new stuff what is going on in town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just had my first real coughsurfing experience here in Yellowknife. And it was a great experience! Was really good to meet everybody (a house of 6 people). We partied a lot together! I love travelling now, but when I get home, I can't wait to host people myself! Hopefully these guys will come to the Netherlands one time! Also in New Foundland I had a great experience with couchsurfing. Definately made some friends over there. I really have the idea that couchsurfing is a lot better way to really get to know a place and the people. I don't think I would have had such a great time, if I would have stayed in a hostel. All the couchhost I stayed till now, were really open and friendly. Great people!!

Beside that, I did wwoofing, which is kind of the same. Both families were really nice. I hope I get a chance to visit them before I go back to the Netherlands.

I can really recommend it to everybody! Coughsurfing is a great experience! I really hope to have somebody over too as soon as I got a place!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music. Going out in disco would be like top 40 music. Listening cd's at home would be soul, blues and rock, 70's are cool. But also 80's, 90's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just litterly run into a wolf during hiking at Jasper, Fryatt trail. Amazing!!!!
