ABOUT ME

I live in Grahamstown, a small E. Cape town (pop. 75000) which is technically a 'city' beause it has a cathedral. Grahamstown is a city of great socio-economic contrasts with poverty and unemployment in the east and middle to high income groups in the west and in the city centre. It is also home to the National Arts Festival and Rhodes University which has about 6000 students. I have juggled teaching and language related-research, with raising a family (1 daughter and 1 son). Both children are now happily launched and pursuing careers of their own.
I'm a vegetarian and I love cooking and entertaining.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sheltering from the rain and finding that I'd walked in on a free concert in a church in Prague. (It was mid-week and the place was full!). I emerged from the church about an hour later and walked into the rain stunned, happy and warmed from within.
