About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To create a wonderful, sustainable haven in beautiful Northumberland

ABOUT ME

I am a teacher with grown up children. I love writing, sketching, spinning, gardening.

I own a VW camper and a Harley Davidson and plan to travel with both over the next few years. Hoping I can build up a network of contacts to help plan my route!

PHILOSOPHY

Self fulfilment comes not from competition but from the human capacity for co-operation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't really understand this question!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I took advantage of amazing hospitality when I was young and hitchhiking around Africa and Canada. I still pick up hitchhikers, much to my family's horror. I guess this is just one step further.

Interests

Archaeology, traditional crafts, trees - mostly trees and their mythologies. I have just planted a native English broadleaf wood with a sacred grove at its centre. Just need to wait 10 years and it will be amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Avatar, Shrek. Any fantasy. I have a enough real world grittiness in my life not to need modern, human interest stories to entertain me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mount Kenya, visited St cuthbert's grave in Durham cathedral ( don't ask me why I found it so moving because I am spiritual rather than religious), moved to Northumberland - God's country!

Teach, Learn, Share

Scything, textile archaeology, Classic English cooking. World migration 100,000- 10,000BC. The Evolution of mind.

Want to learn - global history, languages
