About Me

Full-time teacher; long-time learner.

I dance, I laugh, I craft, I dream, I write, I love; I live.

I like spending time outdoors, love the beach, and enjoy nothing more than sharing laughter and good vibes with awesome people. I support dreaming and adventuring, and have developed a desire to discover all the beauty that the Earth and its people have to offer.

When I'm not teaching Dance, Drama or English to Secondary students, I'm drawing, drinking tea, wining, dining, making smoothies, baking muffins or enjoying the sunshine.

A believer in love, a hippie at heart, and an advocate for life adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I strongly believe that wonderful experiences are often stemmed from wonderful people... And the travelling kind are always incredible! I hope to continue building a network of nomadic souls and friends, and give back to the travelling world that has already given so much to me.

I spent 2014 driving the entire loop around mainland Australia in my beloved kombi van, which was the journey of a lifetime and incredibly amazing. I was fortunate enough to experience remarkable places with irreplaceable people, and it ignited my interest in travelling, couch surfing and meeting as many wonderful people as I'm lucky enough to cross paths with.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music and am open to pretty much anything. I often opt for acoustic and mellow tunes, but it generally depends on the mood, the day and the company. Some artists I'm frequenting at the moment include Ziggy Alberts, Courtney Barnett, The Staves, Paul Simon, First Aid Kit, Kim Churchill and the beautiful Ben Howard.

I am terrible at remembering movies/quotes/actors etc. and am SO far behind on my list of things to watch. If you ask me if I've seen something, the answer is probably "No, but I really want to!" I guess I spend most of my time away from the TV screen, but I'm sure that's a good thing. I'll watch pretty much anything, although if it's horror I'm out.

Gladly reconnecting with books lately; currently enjoying some good reads by Tim Winton. Also dabbling in writing my own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aside from surviving an Australian road trip despite the many breakdowns, crocodiles, stingers, strangers and wrong turns involved, a sunrise hike up Mt Bruce in Western Australia is up there with the highlights. Long story short: we got up at 1am, hiked up the mountain in time to see the sunrise from the top, then struggled our way back down, baffled at how we managed the climb in the dark!
