ABOUT ME

I am fun, adventurous, sometimes outgoing and sometimes shy, always friendly. I love trying new things and meeting new people.

I grew up in Kansas and moved to St Louis in 2004.

I am currently trying to learn how to play the harmonica and can vegetables from my garden.

I have been a vegetarian (who eats seafood and fish...pescatarian, really) and am now trying to eat more locally. I want to learn how to can and pickle veggies so I can enjoy them in the wintertime too.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be a good person and learn from my experiences. I am aware of what is going on in the world, what is going on around me and how my actions effect other people. Right now I feel like the US is going to shit and we really need to take care of each other. I feel like every person has value and I can learn something from everyone.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: too many! Paperbackswap.com is my friend. I am always reading something. I like a good story and I also like nonfiction. I like to read about the places I have been...for example, after I went to the Mississippi Delta area I put books on my list about the flood of 1927, black migration and blues music.

Music: Rock, blues, punk, classic rock, folk, bluegrass, reggae....new favorite band is Reverend Payton's Big damn Band. I hugged the drummer after a show...yay!

Movies: not a fan of the summer blockbuster type (transformers) but love indie movies, comedies, crazy horror movies, animated (Despicable Me), foreign.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

thunderstorm over the gulf of Mexico in Florida. Fjords in Alaska. Kayaking in a mangrove swamp in the Bahamas. Ireland-Every last bit.
