Interests

Summer, 2013, I traveled to southern France for my son's wedding just after returning to a magical place from my past-Formentera off the coast of Spain for the first time since I lived there my 20's. In the summer I live in heaven on earth at the foot of the Cascade mountains in Oregon. Two highlights of the summer of 2012 describe me well: 1) a 120 mile bike tour with my son's band and one other band (18 of us in all), on the their way to a music festival in northern California, camping every night in a different place, sometimes at the beautiful homes of people along the way who invited us to stay,fantastic music every night, wonderful companions of all ages; 2) I took 7 of my students from Afghanistan to a theater festival in Stockholm and produced a fantastic performance

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raising a child counts high on my list of many amazing adventures. Teaching theater in Afghanistan for two years is another highlight. I've been fortunate in my life to have had many adventures and plan to have many more. I've lived in Alaska, consider it one of my homes and return frequently. I traveled to Micronesia for an adoption agency and found the best snorkeling in the world. I've rafted the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon many times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've lately returned to studying ancient Hula - in the past I belonged to two other halaus in Hawaii and Alaska. When I'm asked why I love Hula I think the primary reason is that it is so primal, when i'm dancing even if it's on a gym or linoleum floor I feel connected to the earth.
