About Me

I'm 23 years old and I've just finished my degree in English Literature and French at UCL in London. I'm now in Buenos Aires at the start of a long trip throughout South America. Ya me encanta!

PHILOSOPHY

Live each day like it's your last!
Not all those who wander are lost.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On a basic level of course I'm just really excited to meet and learn from new people - and hopefully get some new ideas and perspectives on the world. Above all I'm a big believer in the idea that material things are not what life is about, so I hope to maybe be able to learn and discuss ideas along these lines with other happy Couchsurfers.
Spanish practice along the way would also be a huge bonus!
I'm also looking forward to welcoming people to London once I return - as my hometown I'm really keen that people get to see the best it can offer!

Interests

Anything to do with the arts (theatre & literature in particular) I enjoy discussing.
Music festivals are also a big passion of mine and have definitely been some of the best times of my life - I love dressing up in silly clothes there haha.

I play tennis regularly and try to go and see it professionally when I can. I have been to Wimbledon multiple timescale for example.
As I mentioned above I also spend quite a lot of my time volunteering and I have several causes that I help with. Sustainability and LGBT rights are two in particular. For example I have spent time working with with a charity called FoodCycle where we have to make meals for the homeless out of what the supermarkets throw away.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some favourite authors: Dickens, Keats, Austen, W.H Auden, Zadie Smith, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Oscar Wilde.

Some favourite films: Lost in Translation, Into the Wild, Submarine, Fish Tank, This is England, The Class, Never Let Me Go, Delicatessen, Y Tu Mama Tambien, La Haine, Pride, Call Me By Your Name.
Also anything directed by Michael Haneke or Ken Loach.

I'm really passionate about house music. Some of my favourite DJs are: Carl Cox, Todd Terje & Bicep. However from time to time I like all sorts - always open to recommendations :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Glastonbury festival!! (I've actually been 3 times haha). The most beautiful and happy place in the world. What's not to like about dancing in the mud for 5 days covered in glitter?

More than happy to provide help with English or French language skills.
Apart from that I guess a sense of fun, a big smile and maybe a beverage or two!
