To travel, see new places, meet new people, experience different cultures
I am a newly qualified history teacher and will be teaching full time this August. I love to travel having spent a year in Canada and several summers coasting the Eurorail trains through Europe. I enjoy sports (football/cycling), literature, activism and all sorts of music; folk, indie, jazz, reggae....the list goes on!
Bit of a wee idealistic lefty :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My immediate aim is to meet new people and build social networks through couch surfing.
In my travels I haven't actually couch surfed but I have attended many of the couch surf meets and it is through these that I have met many of my current friends
I am an avid football fan, my local team is St. Mirren and I support them religiously. I also love cycling as it lets you explore the local countryside or when travelling it provides the perfect vehicle for undiscovered territories.
Music, Movies, and Books
My music interests are diverse...I love folk, indie, reggae, punk rock and more. My favourite books are the Lord of the Rings, The Hitchiker Guide to the Galaxy and Kafka's The Trial!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Along with hundreds of environmental activists I helped drive a giant siege Rhino towards the headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland. That day was brilliant, collectively we believed a better world was possible!
Teach, Learn, Share
My degree is in Scottish History so if anyone is interested I would be glad to impart my knowledge of the subject. I am also very intersted in politics and always welcome a healthy debate.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to think I am a laid back person with a funny sense of humour. I thing its great to meet new people and learn about different cultures and ways of life. I love travelling and exploring new cities.
