关于我
Short version:
Born in China
Grew up in Germany
Lived in the US, New Zealand and Japan
Currently living in Berlin, with my girlfriend
I am a freelancer, with an emphasis on the free part. I try to keep my working hours to a minimum and make time to enjoy life. I like to take things easy and myself not too seriously. We are happy to host and help fellow travelers to have a good time and safe journey.
I have become active again on CS to start hosting. Please take the time and read my profile, especially the "My Home" section, where I put information you should know in advance when considering to stay with us.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
The more I travel, the more it's about connecting with people and culture rather than seeing places. CouchSurfing is an amazing way to make new friends and adds a personal flavor to places I visit.
I have been very fortunate and received some of the most heartwarming hospitality in the past. Now, having my own place and the opportunity to give and share, I want to reciprocate to the community. I have started hosting and hopefully can enrich your trip as my previous hosts did for me.
兴趣
When I am at home, I like to cook, eat, drink tea, fix vintage bicycles and read books. I am interested in psychology, philosophy and politics. I extract learnings and information mostly from these three subjects for my own way of living and thinking. On good days, I try to do challenging body movements like the handstand, some yoga poses or calisthenic movements. I also do some semi-impressive-looking but useless martial arts as well as some other stuff, which has proven to be more effective for self-defense. I enjoy hanging out with animals, as their presence calms me down and they do a good job making me laugh. But once in a while I also meet up with people :)
When I am travelling, I like to experience nature by using my senses, for example dipping into glacier lakes, listening to the forest sounds, breathing in the ocean breeze, seeing the changing colors of the leaves and the clouds, going under waterfalls and withstanding the water pressure. I enjoy hiking in the mountain and exploring nearby caves. If circumstances allow, I plan to go on one sailing trip every year. Few minimalistic weeks on a wooden boat reminds me on how little I need to be content, and which things in life are meaningful and really contribute to my happiness. As a passionate photographer, I usually travel with my camera and drohne equipment. But on my journey to becoming a halfway radical minimalist, I now just have my phone to take stupid fun selfies with my girlfriend. Other than that, I go out for food and try to get a sense of the local life style.
音乐、电影和书籍
Music: Jazz in the morning
Epic anime themes during workouts
Classic on the bike
Sing-along pop when cleaning and cooking
Chinese traditional instrumental in the evening
Reading: I have spent way more time playing video games than reading in the past 20 years. I have started to read more especially after moving to Berlin. The last page-turner for me was The Outlaw Ocean by Ian Urbina.
Movies: I enjoy classic movies like Forest Gump, Good Will Hunting or Shawshank Redemption. But mostly, I watch dumb funny things like Kungfu Panda or movies from the MCU.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I joked with a friend about my plan after my volunteer service in Pennsylvania 2016, saying that I want to travel across the Continental U.S. by bicycle. Two weeks later I bought a road bike and hit the road. I approached San Diego after 12 weeks and could look back upon an amazing journey.
I put on 25 kg in four months after joining the university sumo club during my semester abroad in Japan, then dropped 35 kg in three months after returning home.
I got to see both the aurora borealis (Alaska, Denmark) and aurora australis (New Zealand), I guess that's pretty cool.
教,学,和分享
If possible, I would love to try your favorite dish and learn how to prepare it.
If you are interested, I can share my recipes for preparing tofu in nine different ways.
If not already mastered, I can teach you how to eat with chopsticks. And if you show potential, I will also introduce you to the fiery art of wok tossing :)
我可以与沙发主分享些什么
Insight to different cultures, few travel stories and a big smile :)
If you have a wok and powerful gas stove in your kitchen, I can make traditional asian dishes like Pad Thai or egg fried rice for us. If not, then just egg and rice or maybe other dishes
