About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a passionate, curious, nerdy, adventure-seeking master's student from the University of Ottawa working on issues of education and international development.
PHILOSOPHY
Have compassion. Help others in whatever way you can. This may mean changing the way you live your life. I love the Dalai Lama's take on this:
"However tea is prepared, the primary ingredient is always water...While we can live without tea, we can't live without water. Likewise, we are born free of religion, but we are not born free of the need for compassion"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm mainly using couchsurfing to find people to hang out with in India. When I return to Ottawa I'd love to host some couchsurfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just joined. Came highly recommended by a good friend for her trip in Singapore.
Interests
Currently, I am doing field research in New Delhi, India on private foundations and education for socially disadvantaged children. I spend a lot of my time researching, reading, interviewing, discovering and blundering my way through this project. Lots of awkward stories so far.
In general, I love both the city and the wild. I love the different and the new, and will never stop learning. I try to spend my time in as many different ways as possible.
I also love martial arts (although I'm certainly no master myself) and enjoy Krav Maga.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Currently, I'm the furthest East in the world I've ever been. Almost everything I see on a daily basis is amazing to me.
However I'll give two more moments. One was visiting Sighisoara, Romania where my great grandfather grew up. The town is the oldest inhabited citadel in Europe and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, or the "real-life" Dracula. Not only was the village beautiful (and vampiric!) but I accidentally stumbled across a graveyard full of tombstones with my family name.
The second would be when I walked across a closed-off bridge between two mountains facing Neuschwanstein Castle in Munich, Germany. I was convinced I was going to fall through the broken wooden boards to my doom, but was egged on by a random Austrian stranger that I met in the woods 3 minutes earlier. In the end, the view was certainly worth it.
