I love to read. Related to that, I'm currently in school to become a librarian. I love learning in general, and I particularly love learning languages, though I'm not fluent in any but English because of my language wanderlust. Right now I'm focusing on French and trying hard not to get distracted. :)

Other interests include dancing, triathlon training (at which I'm a total newbie), and meeting new friends. I'm an introvert, and I love forming deep connections and lifelong friendships with people.

My fandoms include Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Elementary, Sleepy Hollow, and Bitten. I just started watching Doctor Who from the beginning (the 1960s beginning) in hopes of seeing what all the fuss is about.

I think travelling is way more fun when you meet new people along the way. I've only Couchsurfed once and it was a great experience. Not to mention that I'm a student, and the money saved on hotels lets me stay longer and/or do more in the places I visit.

I'm unable to host people in my home, but I'd love to meet up with visitors to Winnipeg and hang out! I'm very familiar with the local transit system, and can hopefully serve as a bit of a local guide to you.

Books: I love fantasy novels. Harry Potter is one of my favourite series, as is the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane. I also read some sci-fi and other fiction.

Movies: My favourite movies are Matilda, Pocahontas, and Death to Smoochy. I love Nicolas Cage, Johnny Depp, Kevin Spacey, Sandra Bullock, and Ellen Page.

I went ziplining in Pembina Valley. It was probably the most exhilirating experience of my life. And apparently that's a really small and tame place to go ziplining, so I definitely need to try it somewhere that has actual mountains.

Update: I have now ziplined on Grouse Mountain! It was super cloudy, so I didn't get the great view, but it sure was fast!
