A bit about us: We’re an outdoor-loving, adventure-seeking couple who have two small and energetic toy poodles, Moose and Koda 🐶🐶

We have been together for over 5 years. We met in Hakuba doing a snow season in Japan. Kieran was working as a Ski Instructor and I was working in Guest Services taking the bookings for the ski school. We both love the snow. Kieran is a skier, ski instructor and race coach. Libby is a snowboarder and has lived in Canada, doing a season at Sunshine Ski Village in Banff before moving to Japan.

After the winter season we both worked as Stand Up Paddle (SUP) instructors on Niyodo river in Shikoku in Japan. It was incredible! We learnt how to white water SUP.

We are both kind and down to earth. Love adventures and outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, going the the beach, SUP, going to the mountains, skiing, snowboarding, and indoor activities such as playing cards, board games, computer games, watch movies, socially drinking, eating food both out at restaurants and cooking at home. We are massive foodies and plan our travels so we can eat lots of delicious food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because we believe in meeting people in their authentic element, in homes rather than hotels, sharing meals rather than sitting across a table, and creating genuine connections. Whether we’re hosts or surfers, what really matters to us is the people, the stories, the culture and the adventures.

We can vibe to any genre of music!

Ultimately Indie and pop music is Libby’s favourite genres. I like Laps around the sun by Ziggy Alberts. I also love 7 by Catfish and the bottle men, La Mar by the beautiful girls and Banana pancakes by Jack Johnson. Just to name a few.

Kieran favourite genre is metal but he also listens to many other genres.

Movies: anything Disney or Pixar, Big Hero 6 is another favourite, Enders game, Ready player one, Inception, Now you see me, Matrix, Terminator, Lord of the rings, Avengers, Guardians of the galaxy, Deadpool and all of the marvel movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

» We went on a one-month motorcycle trip up the west of Japan, starting in Shikoku and ending all the way up at Sapporo 🏍️
» A road trip down the Atlantic coast of France and through the north of Spain! We hired a VW California Campervan 🚐✨
» We have both done multiple seasons in different countries skiing and snowboarding 🏂
» Libby has hiked to the summit of Mount Fuji 🗻

Teach, Learn, Share

We love sharing stories, local tips, and a good laugh over food or coffee. Kieran can teach you about ski and ski racing, motorcycles and outdoor adventure! He’s worked in Japan as a ski instructor. Libby loves creative projects, photography, and exploring local markets and cafés. We can both share plenty of recommendations for travelling around Australia.

We’re both keen to learn from others, new languages, travel stories, recipes, or anything about your culture and life experiences. Couchsurfing has such a unique way of connecting people who might never have met otherwise, and that’s what we love about it.

We’re always happy to share a meal, some laughs, and time and cuddles with our dogs, Moose and Koda. They will definitely make you feel at home!
