About Me

I am a 26-year old German student of German and English Philology and soon-to-be teacher. I have studied and worked in various places around the world and love to see new places and meet new people. I am not a very outgoing person but going abroad has always helped me leaving my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling in order to learn about new cultures, places, languages and people. Couchsurfing has given me the opportunity to meet locals and also to get to know a place through another perspective.

I have couchsurfed five times so far: Two friends and I spent five days at a very nice guy's flat in Stockholm. This first experience with Couchsurfing made me want to do it again, so I couchsurfed in Warsaw where I stayed at Kuba's flat. He was a really nice guy who took me on a bike trip around Warsaw. I don't expect these things to happen when I couchsurf, but they make this experience so special. My two stays with hosts in Canada were equally nice. Staying with Hazel in Hong Kong was amazing - she was a great host and we had really good conversations. I'm happy to say that I've only had positive experiences with couchsurfing.

Interests

I'm interested in books, soccer, yoga, walking and hiking, museums, theatre, cultures and languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books and I spend a lot of time reading. In recent years and due to my studies, I have been reading a lot through the classical canon of German and English literature, and I'm trying to read a lot of "World Literature".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Tanzania has probably been the most defining period of my life, in a very positive sense.
