Who is Liekie?

Talketive photographing motorbiker, currently working in Brabant, NL, taking a break from traveling the world with my own campervan, while shaping my new path in life! An eye-opening, sometimes tough, but always rewarding journey! Love learning languages, choose voluntary work before commercial job! I AMsterdam!

Keywords: impulsive, smiling, talketive (but able to listen as well), direct, easy-going, let my feelings guide me, idealist from the heart, can sleep anywhere on anything, always in for surprises!

I always (try to) learn the language of the country I travel in, as communication with the locals can teach you many lessons in life!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was fortunate to be able to stay at many local peoples' homes abroad. Mostly met them while traveling when trying to commmunicate with them in their language. People too poor to be able to enjoy the luxury of a computer and the world of Couchsurfing.

When living in Amsterdam I have hosted some people, who enjoyed the encounter as much as I did, so they say! Back on the travel path again, so no possibility to host at the mo. Will do in the future again!

Not really couchsurfing a lot myself as I seem to meet the people anyway...but love the CS ideology!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a few couchsurfers staying over before I set off again... could host one person in my house-on-wheels whilst travelling, but it would be too cozy for Asian standards!

On my trip to Finland I stayed at on with 2 hosts as well and loved the experience and the company! Also met up with great CS-ers in Kathmandu, Nepal! Still in contact with some of them.

Kaiser Chiefs, Saybia, Travis, Robbie Williams, Manu Chao to name a few + local music from countries I have visited (e.g. Mongolia, Thailand, Myanmar, Finland)

favorite Movies:
Not been watching much lately, rather spend my time doing other things but golden oldies are: Lord of the Rings (I,II,III), Sunrise, Silence of the Lambs, True Romance are the first ones to pop into my mind!

Favorite books:
Thriller books, all Harry Potter books, LOTR, Sophie's world, A short history of nearly anything!

Riding my motorbike alone in Mongolia meeting local nomad people was definately a challenge as well as a highlight!
