About Me
Hi!!
My name is Robin and I'm a couchsurfer because it is a fantastic way to build lifelong friendships and to learn about other cultures at the same time. :)
Simply put, I am zestful on life and always wake up with a smile on my face! I am warm-hearted, easy-going, generous, reflective, adaptive, and stress free soul without prejudices and I have an infectious laughter. Empathy and a positive outlook on life are two important abilities that colored my life in many ways and they are something I value highly. These characteristics are something most people notice about me and also the reason why I so easily make friends from all over the world no matter their age, gender or background. :)
Since a few years back I try to travel to 2 - 5 countries every year. Travel is the best educator there is. After visiting more than 30+ countries by now, I start to feel more like a global citizen than a swedish citizen. The world is my home.
I am a changemaker and have a past as startup founder. I founded the social venture Comic Health (www.comichealth.com) in healthcare industry to work for a more equal health care in Sweden. I worked with that for 5 years and proud to say that I changed how healthcare work with intercultural communication on regional level in Sweden and also received many prestigious awards for this work. Also worked ~10 years in IT industry as frontend web developer and UX architect changing how the world works with intellectual property at CPA Global; which means I have great skills and interest in IT, innovation and technology.
On my longer travels I have a tradition of putting together a volunteer project of some kind to give back to society. In Philippines I helped almost 1000 homeless families and street children during Christmas with food and hygiene. In Nepal I helped upgrade three rural schools with computer room, library and solar panels. In Barcelona I was part of hosting an event for deaf people from different countries so they could meet and connect with the hearing community. Helping others give meaning to my life.
Don't hesitate to invite me to the kitchen to cook for you. I love cooking food and also like long dinners where we laugh and share openly about life and everything in between. I believe lifelong friendships are built on genuine trust, openness, and happy moments together.
Photography is a big passion of mine and I have captured landscape photos and travel photos of documentary style for the past 6 years. My photography can be explored on my instagram (https://www.instagram.com/liendeborg/) and you can also connect with me on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/liendeborg) if you are interested in reading my travel posts and reflections on life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I couchsurf because I love diversity. Each country and culture have its own charm and it is something I try to embrace when I travel. I don't want to visit all the usual tourist places, I want you to give me directions to the local sidestreets where we can eat amazing local food, enjoy improvisation theatre, watch puppet show, observe the local lifestyle, or attend an event at a social bar. Let me see the true culture and daily life of your country or city.
When I was a kid I dreamed about becoming a journalist but later on I decided to become a web developer and UX designer. That childhood dream is still there deep within me and I am currently making documentary films on my spare time. Filmmaking gives me the same satisfaction as journalism do. I get to learn about the world when I meet people and if I meet interesting people I want to capture them on film as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I admire documentary films because of all the work that is put into doing them.
Electronic music with influences from ambient, chillout, lounge and instrumental music. I like to listen to blues, jazz, old rock and all types of non-mainstream music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2013, I have had the honor to receive a private invitation to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway. Why? I will tell you over a glass of wine. :)
Me and a couple of friends from Nepal did a fundraise and helped three rural school on the mountain top in Nepal. We installed solar panel, built computers so they got a computer lab, collected thousands of books and built library. These schools now meet the government's requirements of receiving public funds. So the change we did is now growing even bigger for these schools and provides better education for more than 1000 students every year.
I have acted as the braindead guy in Season 1, Episode 2 of the swedish-danish TV series BRON (The Bridge). Play forward to around 10 minutes and you will see me in a hospital bed with bandage all over my body and EKG connected to my skin.
