Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy hosting especially very much! To me it's a way to get in touch with the ambiance of traveling without leaving the house or having the time to travel.

To be able to accomplish a personal connection with the people I meet, I prefer people traveling alone, and staying for at least 2-3 nights.

Interests

· Music: I am a composer and write music professionally. I play the piano for fun and sing in a choir that specialises in (Belgian) contemporary classical music. I take classes in soundpainting (both playing and painting).
· Mental health: I am active as a lived experience worker in mental health care. I have experience with mental health problems and recovery. I work as a patient representative, I give testimonials and workshops on recovery and resilience to diverse audiences, among other freelance activities. I am also in general interested in psychiatric care, mentalising, and the recovery movement.
· Journaling, self work and self-awareness
· Creativity (I'm currently doing the program in The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, for which I gathered a creative cluster: a group of people doing the program together), creative therapy, and exploring and widening my practice as an artist beyond contemporary classical music.
· Sewing: I alternate between following sewing patterns and designing my own projects.
· Hitchhiking (36000+ km through Western Europe and author of the guide 'hitchhiking like a girl'), although I almost stopped hitchhiking since I started working (and earned enough money to start taking trains and planes while having less time to travel).
· Nuance, nuance, nuance. Perspective, perspective, perspective.

I don't always have the time or mental space to hang out very much, but I enjoy having your presence in my house. This is a place for people who appreciate quiet alone time.

My cat will probably hang out with you in your room, he likes to cuddle. If you're not really into cats, you can keep your door closed.
