Hey, I am Lieselot. I started traveling in 2022. First I explored East and South East Asia, India and Europe for two years. Then I took a break from traveling, worked in Belgium while spending time with family and friends. Recently I started traveling again. Looking forward to new adventures! :D

My five biggest passions are traveling (including social encounters, seeing beautiful places and getting to know the local culture), languages, outdoor sports like running, roller blading, hiking, cycling, swimming and beach volleyball; reading books that teach you something and healthy living.

While traveling I hitchhike a lot. It is a nice way to get in touch with people you would otherwise not have met. It is very rewarding not to know where you will end and who you will meet and then arriving having met so many wonderful people. I mostly hitchhike solo, but am totally up to hitchhike together with others. I hitchhiked over 20.000 km so far. 

Also on Couchsurfing you meet so many nice people. I have found very good friends thanks to couchsurfing and love the concept of getting closer to how locals are living. 

During the last few years, I spent a lot of time studying and working. Mostly in Belgium, but I also lived in Fribourg in Switzerland, Gothenburg in Sweden and Cordoba in Spain. It is very interesting to live in another country, as you get to see more than as a tourist. I am attracted to live in more countries in the future. 

As it is way nicer to talk in real life than writing on a platform or texting, we can talk further in person :)

I love traveling through CS to meet people from other countries and cultures, to explore new places we would otherwise not find, to taste different food, to get an idea how people live in other parts of the world, ..
