live young forever.
I'm open and engaged in the world, and if the music is right and the people are warm, I might just party until the sun comes up.
I'm pretty easygoing, very fun-loving, and always passionate: about music and art, about culture and politics, and most especially about falling in love with new things, new cultures, new people.
I think that no two days should ever be the same. I think of predictability as a slow and drawn-out death where the poor victim is the last to get the memo.
Oh, I've also identified the most important thing anyone can ever learn in life, and I'd like to share with you now this secret of life: just laugh, and especially at yourself. Because life's absurd, and I'm absurd. And chances are that you are too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To explore the world through its hearts. I met beautiful people in my first couchsurfing experiences in Buenos Aires, and I did it all over again in Mexico and left a huge chunk of my heart there.
I'm back home in Montréal now, and I just moved into my own place (no roomies). I don't have the money yet to head back out into the world though, so instead I'll just invite the world over.
music, music, music... also huge into cooking, photography, politics, all kinds of art really... I love sharing a good meal and a (few?) bottles of wine with friends, partying, dancing, living every day to the fullest and meeting new people all the time.
I'm very political too, because I don't see how you can not be right now. I mean when you look outside your window in the morning, there's a world out there, no? Better us make the best of it, or else all the jerks and idiots will (and are). And we absolutely can't have that. I mean we do
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Huge into electro (techno and house) music, most especially deep house, micro-house and minimal (à la Berlin). That's my obsession really, but I can enjoy a bit of every genre when it's good (except country, ach, and angry or aggressive music, no thanks; life's too beautiful to drown it out by yelling.)
But really, everything from Nina Simone to the Streets to Guti, tINI or Pupkulies & Rebecca, to The Smiths and David Bowie, to Lhasa de Sela, Calle 13 and Manu Chao... etc etc.
Films: Not a Hollywood fan, more of an indie/arthouse type. Favourite directors: Xavier Dolan, Almodovár, Richard Linklater. Films: Before Sunset, Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Les Amours Imaginaires, Mala Educación, Le Temps Qui Reste, Les Invasions Barbares, Y Tu Mama Tambien, I Heart Huckabees,..
Books: Less Than Zero (Easton Ellis), The Line of Beauty (Hollinghurst), Essays in Love (De Botton), Trainspotting (Welsh), De Niro's Game (Hage), Notes From Underground (Dostoyevsky).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wrote a book about revolution.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you: my languages, English, et français :) You can teach me or help me with yours, especially if it's Spanish. Siempre necesito práctica.
I can also teach you ALL about my city, Montréal - seriously, I'm a pretty awesome guide! And of course about Québec and its culture, and Canada.
I'm also pretty passionate about progressive politics and activism, and I'm sure we can have exciting chats.
I can show you TONS of great music, and maybe we can exchange cooking skills ;)
Hmm, I can show you my yoga moves?
