About Me

live young forever.

Very easygoing, fun-loving and open, and passionate: about music and art, about culture and politics and the issues facing the world, and most especially about falling in love with new things, new cultures, and new people =D

I'm affectionate and engaged and full of life, and if the music is right and the people are warm, I`ll party until the sun comes up.

I also like boys by the way, and in particular the beautiful ones. That means exactly what you think it means. Isn't life grand?

I think that no two days should ever be the same. I think of predictability as a slow and drawn-out death where the poor victim is the last to get the memo.

It's also my profound life conviction that 90% of all conflict in the world is caused by people not communicating with one another.

Oh, I've also identified the most important thing anyone can ever learn in life (second only to learning to love), and I'd like to share with you now this secret of life: laugh. Just learn to laugh, and especially at yourself. Because life's absurd. I'm absurd. And chances are that you are too.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Surfing, hosting, surfing...just moved back to my amazing home of Montréal after a few months in Mexico and studies in Toronto. Moved into a new place now and ready to welcome the world.

Met beautiful people in my first couchsurfing experiences in Buenos Aires. Did it all over again in Mexico and left a huge chunk of my heart there with some couchsurfers. Back to MTL now, and hope to invite the world over for a drink or a party ;)

music, music, music...hehe also huge into cooking, writing, films, photography, design, politics, urban planning, all kinds of art really...I LOVE sharing a good meal and a (few?) bottles of wine with friends, partying, dancing, living every day to the fullest and meeting new people all the time.

I'm also very political, because I don't see how you can not be. I mean when you look outside your window in the morning, there's a world out there, no? Better us make the best of it, or else all the jerks and idiots will. And we absolutely can't have that.

Music, Movies & Books

Music: Huge into electro and house music, especially minimal and deep house (Ã la Berlin), but also electro-pop, indie, latino genres, 80s new wave, rock, jazz, swing, acoustic, and pretty much a bit of every genre when it's good (except country, ach, and angry or aggressive music, no thanks; life's too beautiful to drown it out by yelling.)

But really, everything from Nina Simone to the Streets to Guti, tINI or Pupkulies & Rebecca, to The Smiths and David Bowie, to Lhasa de Sela, Calle 13 and Manu Chao...etc etc.

Films: Generally not a Hollywood fan, more an indie/arthouse type. Favourite directors: Xavier Dolan, Almodovár, Richard Linklater. Films: Before Sunset, Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Les Amours Imaginaires, Il Fate Ignorante, Mala Educacion, Le Temps Qui Reste, Les Invasions Barbares, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Once, Trainspotting, I Heart Huckabees, Romeo and Juliet (the Baz Lurhman one), and sooo many more.

Books: Less Than Zero (Easton Ellis), The Line of Beauty (Hollinghurst), Essays in Love (De Botton), Trainspotting (Welsh), De Niro's Game (Hage), Notes From Underground (Dostoyevsky).

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Too many places to name. Too many people to describe. Too many meals to explain. Too many songs to share.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you: my languages, English, et français :) You can teach me or help me with yours, especially if it's Spanish. Siempre necesito práctica.

I can also teach you ALL about my city, Montréal - seriously, I'm a pretty awesome guide! And of course about Québec and its culture, and Canada.

I'm also pretty passionate about progressive politics and activism, and I'm sure we can have exciting chats.

I can show you TONS of great music, and maybe we can exhange cooking skills ;)

My latest loves are yoga and Spanish, and my lifelong loves are food, music, culture... Just meet me, haha, you'll see I'm never short of things to say!
