About Me

Hi, I’m Lika :) I’m originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, but I’ve been moving around quite a bit. I’ve lived in Barcelona, Athens, Newcastle upon Tyne, and now London. I tend to relocate whenever I feel curious about a place and want to understand life there properly. Living somewhere teaches you things travelling never does, and I really enjoy seeing cultures from the inside.

My background is in travel and events and somehow I ended up working across many completely different worlds along the way. Corporate events, comedy shows, sports, music, nightlife, marketing campaigns and creative projects. Now I’m doing my Master’s in Fashion Entrepreneurship at London College of Fashion while building a community building agency for creative businesses. A lot of what I do revolves around bringing people together and understanding what makes connection actually happen.

I have quite diverse interests and tend to get curious about many different things. I grew up around music and finished music school, and I still play a few instruments, sing and dance whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy creating with my hands and find different kinds of handcraft quite relaxing. At the same time I enjoy sports, structured thinking and organising things, which probably comes from my professional background. In general, I just like exploring and trying new experiences, whether creative, physical or practical. Oh and I really love boardgames. I spend quite some time in creative environments and all sorts of events. I also love deep conversations and hardly stand small talks. My friends sometimes call me the philosopher because I am. I enjoy discussing psychology, sociology and human behaviour. I like analysing patterns in how people think, feel and interact, trying to understand what shapes us and where society and humanity are moving overall.

I often travel with my partner Dominik, who is 25 and works as a sound and visual artist. We’re easygoing travellers, tidy and respectful of people’s homes and routines. We usually enjoy simple local experiences, walks, cafés, nature and conversations that help understand a place better.

I’m a cosmopolitan and a natural connector. I like introducing people to each other, sharing ideas, exchanging perspectives and learning how others see the world. I care a lot about people and about leaving places slightly better than I found them. My long term goal in life is connected to social impact and understanding how humanity can become more open and kind. For now I’m exploring that through travel, work and connections wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting locals and seeing places through their eyes. That’s the main reason I’m here.

I enjoy travelling in a way that allows real interaction with people who live in the place. Conversations and everyday moments often stay with me longer than sightseeing.

I usually travel together with Dominik and Couchsurfing helps us keep travelling more often while meeting interesting people along the way. I appreciate openness, cultural exchange and the trust that comes with welcoming someone into your home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Afrobeats is probably still my favourite style overall, especially when I want energy or movement. I also listen to amapiano, jazz, pop, house and hip hop.

Although honestly, over the past year I haven’t been listening to music as much. I’ve found myself choosing podcasts or even silence instead. I often walk around the city without headphones, or listen to podcasts while doing everyday things at home like cleaning or cooking. My listening habits change depending on what phase of life I’m in.

I mostly read psychology related books. For fiction I lean more towards films and especially TV series. I watch quite a lot across different genres and always enjoy exchanging recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I joined a volunteering program in Sri Lanka working with marine and wildlife conservation, which became one of the most meaningful experiences for me.

Volunteering has been part of my life since childhood. I worked in children’s camps, supported Jewish community initiatives and also volunteered within Orthodox Christian communities. I try to donate regularly to charities as well, even small amounts when possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well anything mentioned above really.

I can share travel experiences, stories from living in different countries, music advices, conversations and perspectives on different psychological, sociological and philosophical topics, and of course planning tips.

I enjoy learning about local life, traditions and personal stories from people I meet. And if you happen to work in fashion, events or travel, I’ll probably be extra curious to hear about what you do!

Respect for your space, easygoing company and genuine curiosity about people and places. I’m happy to cook together, share conversations or simply adapt to your routine.
