Music, Movies, and Books

On my nightstand I keep James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small (for a good bed time story) and The Collected Letters of C. S. Lewis (for a good provoking thought).
My absolutely favorite book is “The Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett. I love it so much that I have two copies in English – (one for me, one always ready to lend to somebody) and this summer I bought a copy in French – crazy huh? It is one of those books that will keep you up until the early morning hours. Another of my favorites is “Till We Have Faces” by C.S. Lewis

Movies – I love “La Meglio Gioventu” (“The Best of Youth” is the English title).

I think my absolutely favorite of all times is “Hori, ma panenko” by Milos Forman (“The Fireman’s Ball”) – I haven’t seen it in years and I am still laughing!
Should any of you want to taste Czech cinematography – "Kolja" by Jan Sverak is a good start.

The Irish movie "Waking Ned Devin" is simply hilarious and beautiful!!!!

“The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara” –captivating documentary

I must confess – I love “The Pelican Brief”, “Conspiracy Theory”, . . .

Of course – I love music – but I am kind of picky☺

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch-hiked in Europe by myself(!!!) when I was 18! Hitch-hiked to Berlin with a friend to see Pink Floyd "On the Wall". Took a lift from three wonderful Italian men one time, who stopped to make me the best coffee I've ever tasted!

Was in Norway for the 1994 Winter Olympics!

I think one of the most life altering events was being part of the Velvet revolution and as to the "amazing things done" - I hope that there are few ahead of me:)
