About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Leave a trail of laughter and optimism wherever I go

ABOUT ME

I quit my job in 2011 to explore the world and met my future husband. We traveled together, moved back to the U.S. and now we're focusing on our next life goal, moving back to Europe (I lived in Amsterdam for 3 years).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started participating in couchsurfing when I moved to Valencia and joined a few meet-up events where I met both locals and other travelers. Since then, I mostly used couchsurfing while traveling through South America and met many welcoming people eager to share their culture and country with me.

Interests

Food...if you have delicious food, I want it. Variety and balance is key here. Just because I enjoy indulging in escargot every now and then doesn't mean I'll pass on some delicious fried chicken! I should also mention that one of my greatest joys comes from cooking for others.
Sport...I loved playing soccer (football) as a kid and now I selectively enjoy watching sporting matches, World Cup mainly. I also have a thing for Wimbledon and I hit the occasional ski slope.
Travel...what can really be said? With the exception of a few, there really isn't any place I won't go to.
Architecture...when I had the idea at university to switch majors, it should've been a sign. But now I enjoy the art by way of learning museums, magazines and touring new cities.
Education...I spent a lot of money on career counseling in my 30's and one of the themes was that I enjoy learning for the sake of learning.
Hands-on work...Another theme from my career counseling - I should have just revisited my couchsurfing profile! I enjoy building things. As a kid, it was forts in the woods, snowmen in the winter, dreamhouses from legos and being my Dad's DIY assistant around the house.
