About Me

Hello lovely surfers and hosts !
I'm Chang Yu Chi from Taiwan, call me both Chi or Lily (nickname) would be fine : )
I work as a video editor, freelancing from home.

*2025 updated* I’m visiting Europe during September and October!

SMALL THINGS ABOUT ME

1. In 2025 I completed Yoga Foundation Training 200 HR with an Indian teacher. Yoga has always been part of my life since my early 20’s!
2. I’m also interested in meditation, psychedelics, psychology, travelling, hiking, body movements, literature, art, movies, philosophy, etc.
3. Books and writing especially save my soul.
4. When I travel, I value who I'm staying with more than where I'm staying.
5. I prefer having deep conversations with people more than visiting tourist sites while travelling.
6. I love the idea of slow-living ( thus the slow-eating), and I hope to achieve some kind of minimalism in the future.
7. I'll probably be the slowest eater you have ever met in your life.
8. When it comes to food, basically I would love to try anything.Seafood, vegetables and cheese make me especially happy.
9. I’m always looking for my missing stuff, sometimes remembering the wrong time of the train, even missed a flight once a few years ago, but I ended up making foreign friends at the airport, so : )
10. Sometimes I love to dance in the pub, especially with techno music it'll be in paradise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is like a magical box full of surprises. It brings me to meet new people that I wouldn't have had the chance to meet if I stayed in the hostel. Meeting locals is always the best thing to do in a foreign country for me.
I used to travel with Workaway( work for accommodation)in many different countries, especially in 2019 I spent a year travelling with Workaway and Couchsurfing in Alaska, British, Scotland and Italy. I spent at least a month or two in each place, by the end of the year I've done seven workaways.
I met countless people from all over the world, bounded with them, and cried when it’s time to say goodbye. It’s a perfect way to discover and experience other people's lives. From time to time, you gain new inspiration and different perspectives to look at your own life, to examine your ideals and thoughts, and to create a better version of yourself.

I totally understand there is no need for any host to offer me anything, so I'm always grateful if anyone does. It’s the beauty of human relationships.
Now, I’m so ready to meet new friends around the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Alaska during winter below 20 celsius, slept in a camping bus with locals in the forest for almost a month. Flew to a remote town near Yukon river without road to the big city and lived with locals for 2 months. Dug the snow for boiling shower water, built fire with woods and enjoyed the coldness in the wild. Deep conversations and the bounding with locals. Trip of my life!
