About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm an Israeli girl with many hobbies. I work at H&M's children department as visual merchandiser - I'm responsible for products presentation, mannequins, window, etc. It's really fun!

I'm a fan of cultures and languages, especially of the Scandinavian ones. I studied Swedish for three years, and started studying Danish very recently (I adore the accent, some would say I'm crazy). Music is also a hobby of mine. I play the piano, nothing proffessional, only for fun and mostly by ear. You can listen to me playing on my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/feed/UCiJ2hMAxYMNLNvAld73vLOA/u.

Something else you need to know about me regarding music is that I love the Eurovision song contest! I even traveled to the host country for the Eurovision week twice (in 2006 when it took place in Greece, and in 2010 when it was in Norway). It was one of the best experiences of my life, especially because I met so many fans from all around the world (or at least Europe :-)). I'm planning to go next year too, because it's in Denmark and as I said before, I love anything Scandinavian.

What else? I am an open and friendly person (one can't be objective about himself but I hope I'm right!), I love meeting new people, I love practicing languages I'm studying with "the locals", I love traveling to new places. I enjoy good humor, reading books, hanging out with friends...almost everything. I'm open to all positive experiences life has to offer!

PHILOSOPHY

Generally, I believe in being a good person. I can talk about it for hours while in the right mood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live in Jerusalem where I had my own appartment. Recently I moved to Haifa (northern Israel) because of work, and now I live in my parents home untill I find an apartment here. So currently I can't offer a couch, but I'd love to meet people for a cup of coffee, or for a personal guided tour of the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few years ago, when I knew nothing about couchsurfing, I traveled to Sweden and was hosted by a nice guy in Gothenburg (a friend's friend of mine). It was a great experience since it was the first time I could see a foreign country with the guidance of a local and meet more of his friends.

When I compare this experience it with just traveling in the ordinary way...and by that I mean, just seeing all the "must" places and not having any interraction with the real culture and real people who live in the country, well, it's uncompareable. Anyway, it was through this guy I came to know about couchsurfing. It turns out he hosted many people and even had a guestbook at home with entries from all of them.

a short while after I opened my account, three years ago, I happened to host a nice American guy who traveled in the middle east. It was while I stil lived in Jerusalem, and it was a very nice experience as well. Since then I became very bussy with work and didn't even check the site, but now I'm back, I guess!

Interests

Many, as I said. But I'll write it again: Languages (especially the Scandinavian ones), foreign cultures (again, especially the Scandinavian cultures, and anything that has to do with Sweden), Music (listening, playing, writing), reading, meeting people, and my job.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Hebrew if you'd like, I'm a very good teacher! I can teach you play the piano (freestyle, without music sheets. I hate music sheets). I can teach you how to dress mannequins and how to make soffisticated hairstyles because that's what I do at work.
