About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To conquer Europe!

ABOUT ME

Im a Swedish man from the cold north. Born and raised in Luleå, I grew up loving ice hockey, video games, movies and the company of great friends. We do all of the above, sometimes with a drink or two;). Being from the north I am initially not the most social guy, however that goes away after the "awkward-barrier" is broken.
Religion was never a big deal to me. I AM a baptised christian protestant, but I don´t practice any religion. However, I don´t see it as a problem if you do. To each his own:)

PHILOSOPHY

Always help people. Doesn´t have to be big stuff but just always be ready to give a helping hand. Love your neighbour as you love yourself kind of thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I intend to get an interrailcard this summer and see Europe. This of course means surfing, but in the future, maybe i'll put my couch to good use. I know paying for your stay is a nono, but i am a janitor/cleaner by trade so maybe I can clean a room or two? Would feel wrong not to pay somehow:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, but I intend to change that this July:) A friend (Simon Strålberg) is appearently a host (would reccomend, greay guy if you would travel that far north).

Interests

I love a good sports game, hockey being my favourite, but football is good too(not handegg). I also like movies, playing video games and the occational drink. I work out, but not overly much. Other then that, hanging out with friends or just wander about in cool places like mountains or cities. Oh and I LOVE fishing, an interest that gets forgotten with the long winters:) Ice fishing is ok, but the feeling of catching a big pike on a reel is so much sweeter.

Music, Movies, and Books

I do read, but I dont love reading. My favourite book is probably watership down or of mice and men.
I listen to all sorts of music but I dont really like mainstream pop. Rock and metal is where it's mainly at for me although i also listen to alot of indie pop like anna ternheim, bob hund and shout out louds.
Movie wise my favourite is Rocky, just the right ammount of humor, drama, emotion etc. Brilliant film. But I also like a bad movie. Like Birdemic bad. Anything really, it's great to watch a film with a few friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is going to come of as boyscoutish but I assure you it's true. A few winters ago there was a freezing rain storm in my city. What this does is basically turn all surfaces into superslippery ice. The bus service had to shut down for the day so I had to walk home, not that far just about 3 km from home. Anyway, as im walking I see this old lady staring at the road. First I just walk past her. A few steps later I stop, think "I should atleast ask why she is standing there" so I do just that. Turns out she is going to her dentist on the other side of town but she is afraid to walk due to the ice. I say "what way is it?". Of course, the opposite of home:). Well, me being (in my mind at this time) boyscoutjesus the third, victor of ice, I offer to help walk her there. That was my first real time living my own "always help" philosophy in a relatively big way, and have not since stopped doing small or big good things when i can. Other then that, when I saw Saltoluokta in the swedish mountains, STUNNING mountainwall/river view... And that was just from the base of the mountain, the top damn near brought me to tears:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I will probably undertake this first big journey alone. Not because im a socially awkward person, I do have friends, but because all my friends are either unemployed, getting married or need to save money. I just want to see the world and take a chance for a change, im hoping this community will help me in that:)
