About Me

I just moved back to New England after spending a year in Chicago where I was teaching and working towards an M.Ed. in elementary education. I am taking time off this summer to travel and transition and have also been doing some dog walking part-time!

I have always loved to travel and discover new cultures. In college I had the privilege of studying abroad and living with a host family in Dijon, France, during my junior year. When I got home I missed the cheese and the crèpes and 13 hour bus rides with Eurolines (lol not) so I returned to Europe for another adventure after senior year. Somehow I ended up in one of the most beautiful places in the world -- Tirol, Austria -- and got to spend my days as an English TA with wonderful students and my weekends in the mountains.

I have the honor of calling the great state of New Hampshire, USA, home and love to hike, bike, and enjoy the great outdoors and the beaches of New England with family and friends (and our dogs!). Bavaria, where my mom's family is from, is my second home and I visit as much as possible.

I used to blog about my travels @ nothinventurednothingained.blogspot.com ... hoping to pick up my passport again and revive this pronto haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking forward to meeting new people and exploring the world around me. I haven't hosted any surfers yet but would be glad to if my schedule and living situation permit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a variety of music but country is my go-to! When it comes to books I favor historical fiction and non-fiction. My most recent favorite is Our Kids, by Robert Putnam, about the decline of the American Dream. Some of my favorite movies are romantic comedies like Made of Honor and Parent Trap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked on an organic farm for the summer and it was more far exhausting than I anticipated, but helped me think about the food I eat and become more passionate about food justice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you with your English if you're interested (or German or French as best I can) and would love to learn about your culture!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My optimism and maybe even some baked goods!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
