About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Putting positivity in the Universe and letting light flow into my path - at least that is my mantra. My current mission is more about not falling off my bike at red lights or tripping over my own feet in public too often.

ABOUT ME

I have the coolest dog in the world. No, seriously. He is that awesome.

I am great fun - no doubt about that one - but got a little southern crazy in me (thank god!). I love my life, where I have been and where I am going. Doesn't get any better than this . . . unless the waves are breaking or the snow is falling (and I am there with a board!)

PHILOSOPHY

Putting positivity in the Universe and letting light flow into my path - at least that is my mantra. I stand by the Buddhist saying 'Let go or be dragged' but I am more a Taoist. I think you have to 'do you' and let me 'do me' - and hopefully we will all get along and have some good stories to tell one day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

How I participate with what? Others?? I guess I like being social . . . and I like to hermit. I consider myself really laid back and accepting . . . but my clothes are in color-spectrum order in my closet. So go figure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to surf in grad school a ton - it got me around Europe and introduced me to some eclectic people. Once I ended up meeting a fellow surfer when I was camping in Napa and ended up with a much cooler experience because of it - good times and great travels. That said, I am less of a surfer these days and more of a hoster.

Interests

I like to travel. A bunch. And I like to cook (people will say I have an obsession with bacon). I did the PMC last year (a 200 mile bike ride raising money for cancer research) - so some would call me a 'biker' but really, I am more like Ricky Bobby and just want to go fast. And honestly, I just like to be at home and doing house and yard things. Like ripping out walls and paint and build chicken coops and raised beds and stuff. And of course I am always down to go shimmy to all kinds of music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes. To all of those things. Mostly the movies and books when I am being all hermit-y. . . and always the music. Especially when I am home solo. Or out. Or just anywhere.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know what to put here. I will tell you I have no regrets and love to live. But 'amazing' is a hard thing to describe. Seeing sunset over four countries in the Alps when skydiving, diving in the Pacific, learning to surf in the North Sea, skinny-dipping in the Mediterranean, surfin the snow in the Rockies . . . all amazing. But watching the fireflies and listening to the frogs in a Southern Louisiana swamp while listening to good cajun music and having a cold beverage is 'bout the most incredible thing in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook. I ain't skerrid to teach people about that as in a past life I was a food writer. I also like to sew and make books and read and think and talk.
