ABOUT ME

I am really laid back, go with the flow kind of person, I love meeting people, I'm very outgoing and open minded. I think that if you have the opportunity to travel and don't, then you simply have not lived. Challenge yourself and seek all the opportunities that are out there, question everything and never stop learning!

I'm very passionate about life, I try to love every moment of everyday because I have been extremely fortunate so I try to not complain about the little things that can go wrong. I think this quote describes how I see the world:

"All of humanity is searching for truth, justice and beauty. We are on an eternal search for the truth because we only believe in the lies we have stored in our mind. We are searching for justice because in the belief system we have, there is no justice. We search for beauty because it doesn't matter how beautiful a person is, we don't believe that person has beauty. We keep searching and searching, when everything is already within us. There is no truth to find. Wherever we turn our heads, all we see is the truth, but with the agreements and beliefs we have stored in our mind, we have no eyes for this truth.
We don't see the truth because we are blind. What blinds us are all those false beliefs we have in our mind. We have the need to be right and to make others wrong. We trust what we believe, and our beliefs set us up for suffering."

Couchsurfed in Europe, met up with some fellow couchsurfers in DC, lived in Guyana, now back in DC!

I love to eat, especially new and interesting things.
Dancing is pretty much the only type of workout I do.
I love to ski!
I really enjoy just being in nature, I could lay in a field staring at the night sky and be absolutely happy!

Besides the Amazon Rainforest, which is my favorite place on earth, I was in Interlaken, Switzerland in 2007 and went paragliding. It was absolutely incredible! Just breathtaking, I have always wanted to fly and if that is as close as I'm going to get for now than I would do it again in a heartbeat. LOVED IT!

I was in the Amazon Rainforest for the first time back in 2003. Until you have experienced life and lived off of what nature has to offer you just have no idea. It is an overwhelming and exceptional experience, the power of mother earth can truly be felt in the Rainforest.

What can I teach- I believe we are all teachers in one way or another, many times just sharing a personal experience can be a lesson to someone else. I think I have lived through certain things that have contributed to an understanding or perception of our world that is not necessarily conventional. I have had the privilege of meeting people of very diverse backgrounds that have taught me to really love life for what it is, to respect mother earth for all she gives us, to fight for justice and not be afraid to voice my concerns, and to accept that to feel the pain of the world is a gift and I should embrace it, which I myself am learning to do every single day.
