Hello! I am from Oakland/Berkeley, CA, 15 minutes outside of San Francisco. I took a gap year after high school through Asia. I prefer to travel by hitchhiking and couchsurfing—people who pick up hitchhikers and couchsurfers are cut from the same cloth—open-minded, warm, generous, kind.

I just graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) and am now an army officer (lieutenant). I studied Computer Science, and was a member of club Ski Patrol. I also trained with the boxing team for a year and a half and love martial arts.

I prefer to spend my time in nature, reading, or watching stand-up comedy. I am at peace in the ocean or the mountains. I love skiing, mountain/road biking, swimming, trekking, soccer, yoga, frisbee, and enjoy doing pretty much anything active/outside with good people. I also love board/card games and a good night out on occasion (as long as it involves dancing and/or live music!).

I believe that at any moment, there is an infinite list of things for which to be grateful. Gratitude is the lens through which I make an effort to see the world. I really try to be positive, enthusiastic, loving, and compassionate, and I see gratitude as a keystone virtue that enables everything else. I am not one to complain.

I'm not on this app to travel cheaply. I want to be a good guest! Let me buy you dinner, clean your dishes, and help out in any way I can.
