Moving to The Netherlands was a dream come true for me. I was born here to a Dutch Mum and English Dad we moved to Australia when I was three, where I grew up. I had traveled to Europe several times over the years but wanted to one day live here. Not forever, but never say never!

I have traveled on a regular basis over the last four years. Quite a lot through Eastern Europe which has been amazing. During this time I tried different ways of traveling as I want to be able to understand and experience the culture at a much deeper level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe Couchsurfing allows you to really experience the local culture, meet the local people and find the hidden gems. When backpacking you tend to meet and talk to everyone staying in the hostel, which is fun and international, but I want to learn more. I'm not into ticking off all the major tourist attractions (unless you say it is a must) but finding off the beaten track locations and restaurants.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most memorable holiday was a 31 night camping safari through Southern Africa. To wake up with the sun rise, watch the sun go down with a few beers, cook on an open fire, see all the amazing animals, sky dive, canyon swing and be in nature..... well.... as I'm writing I am getting goosebumps! Then one week in Cape Town with so many laughs. It really was memorable!
