Music, Movies, and Books

I love the authors Mervyn Peake, David Lodge, Robert Harris, Joanne Harris, John o' Farrell, Roddy Doyle, Alexander Mc Call Smith-oh, and DH Larewnce, Graham Greene!! Best films for me have a political story-Before the Rain, Silkwood, Missing,Midnight Express, One Flew over the Cuckoos nest, Girl Interrupted. But my nephews still make me watch teen comedy stuff with them!! Theatre was my first love-I lived by the Theatre Royal in Bath and saw many brilliant plays and actors from the pound seats in the gods!(And ballet which I love) The only music I can't stand is free atonal jazz and I'm not keen on opera-give me a rowdy punk or rock band that makes your heart leap, any day!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

High tide at the harbour in my home town of South Wales-breathtaking.The beach at 5am in Biarritz, south of France. My children being born at home. The kindness of some nurses when my daughter was very ill.

Teach, Learn, Share

All ages, all nationalities. I help run a young people's mental health charity-we put on gigs to fund-raise. I was also Inequalities lead in the NHS for some years and visited some amazing Mosques and Hindu and Sikh temples-right here in Reading!

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom
