About Me

CURRENT MISSION

sinking my toes into some home soil for the present...

ABOUT ME

i'm peripatetic and yet have been eating different variations of the same breakfast for over ten years. i love travel because it teaches me that i'm not a misanthrope. i'm either incredibly lucky or the world is filled with some pretty great people.
now i'm working on the next phase, where i move to the boston area, go to grad school, have a cat, etc. some say the biggest challenge is staying put for a bit, no?

PHILOSOPHY

you must be able to laugh at yourself...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've used it both to house myself and to informally meet others. now that i'll have a place again soon, i'm hoping to host as well...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've been lucky enough to rely on the goodness of strangers (and always been pleasantly surprised) for many of my travels. i first met members of the couchsurfing community in guca, serbia 2011. they were lovely and the experiences i've had since have only served to confirm. i've also hosted (informally) a world of travelers in my different homes.

Interests

drinking, eating, good conversation

  • cats
  • breakfast
  • drinking
  • traveling

Music, Movies, and Books

so many different things, and it changes daily, but i definitely have a passion for all three.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hm... i've been so lucky that i've got an abundance, but the most recent one would be an oyster roast in charleston, s.c. it was at a beautiful old plantation with an open bar, a bluegrass band and spanish moss swaying in the sun. magical...

Teach, Learn, Share

i've always loved the dylan quote 'but i was so much older then, i'm younger than that now.' it pretty much sums up my approach to learning--the older i get the more i realise i don't know. which i've found to be a pretty good thing.
