About Me

I am fun-loving, witty, independent, and hate trying to describe myself in About Me boxes just like everyone else. As cheesy as it sounds, I live my life by what I call the "Why Not?" principle; when someone asks me why I'm doing something a little out of the ordinary, I usually respond with, "Why not?" It's allowed me to get into all sorts of memorable shenanigans. I am also a very polite, kind, and thoughtful person. I am married, but do a lot of traveling alone because my husband's job doesn't allow him to get away much. I don't mind, though, because being by myself gives me the opportunity to meet new people and try new things he might not necessarily love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to have someone show me their favorite parts of where they live, just as I love showing friends from other places around where I've lived. I want to see what the locals love instead of just seeing what's on the beaten path. Friendship and making new and interesting friends is important to me. People can always enrich your life, no matter the distance between you.

Interests

I love going to concerts and sporting events, and I wish I had a fancy camera because I love taking photographs, especially in cities. I like to wander around new places and I am a Zumba junkie. I also really love walking over bridges.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bruce Springsteen, the Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Jopin, Chopin, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, the Killers, Florence and the Machine, Sublime, Lady Gaga, Matt and Kim, Flo-Rida, Katy Perry, Beyonce, late 19th and early 20th century composers that composed in Paris, etc. I'm not picky. I majored in music history and appreciate most music.

Movies: Silver Linings Playbook, When Harry Met Sally, Juno and other quirky comedies, Philadelphia, Good Will Hunting

Books: Harry Potter, autobiographies and non-fiction

I feel like I'm supposed to throw TV in here, too: The Office, Breaking Bad, Nurse Jackie, The Mindy Project, Jimmy Fallon, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Parks and Recreation, Friends, Shameless

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was seventeen, I spent Bastille Day in Paris and got to watch fireworks shoot out of the Eiffel Tower while drinking wine and eating cheese on the balcony of someone's apartment in Paris.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: What pizza and bagels should really taste like, how to cook, quirky things about New Jersey and Philadelphia
Learn: Your stories, every hole-in-the-wall you know, how to crochet because no one will sit down and teach me
Share: I'm good at sharing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My witty sense of humor, stories of my silliness, good company. People love showing people around where they live, and I endlessly appreciate when people show me new things in new places.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Austria, Bahamas, Canada, England, France, Germany, United States
