ABOUT ME

I am an outdoor enthusiasts! I like to hike, camp, and ski nearly every weekend (in the winter) and during the week I occupy my time with things like choir class, volleyball, soccer and going out with friends. I am currently half way through a planned year off from work. In the fall I biked from Vienna to Istanbul and along the coast of Turkey. Now I am heading to Nepal for the next few months in the hopes of doing some amazing trekking among other adventures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Summer 2010 I surfed for two weeks in France and had great experiences everywhere. Since moving to Vancouver at the end of that summer I have tried to host people whenever possible.

Now I am back to travelling and am loving travelling by couch surfing once again but this time with a bit more perspective given that I have hosted as well. The more I surf the more I think "oh! when I get back I should do this for my guests when they surf!"

I love to hike, climb (not as much of that recently), canoe and anything else outdoor related. More recently I have developed a love for biking which spurred the desire to do the bike touring trip. During the winter I ski a lot and love the mountains at any time of the year!

I also enjoy a good night out drinking delicious craft beer (Vancouver has such great choices) with friends or low key nights watching movies.

I have recently been trying to watch as many of the movies nominated for best picture at the Oscars as possible. In general though I like all kinds of movies as long as there is popcorn involved.

Recently I have enjoyed reading books that you might find in a high school curriculum like The Chysalids, a Handmaid's Tale and The Great Gatsby.

Bioluminescence in the Pacific Ocean. I went skinny dipping at night and anywhere you agitated the water (where you kick, for example) the ocean would glow green. It was bright enough that you could see a silhouette of your body.

教，学，和分享

I am an "expert" Canadians so I can try to teach you what you want to know about my country. Learning what everyday life is like in another country is the biggest appeal of travelling. I would love to tag along to "normal" life events to learn how different cultures celebrate holidays or birthdays etc.
