ABOUT ME

I'm an American who feels the most at home when I'm traveling the world and experiencing new people, places and things on a daily basis!

I was born and raised in Bedford, Texas (near Dallas), I moved to LA at age 18 and I still consider it my base, though I guess technically at the moment my base is wherever my backpack is :)

I'm currently taking 15 months off from my career as a reality TV producer to travel the world full-time (October 2015 to December 2016, or past that if I can afford it!) I saved my money and prepped for over a year for this big leap so I'm very excited about it!

I would describe myself as very laid back and enthusiastic about life! I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself in every way - mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I believe we never stop growing, and I am always seeking out ways to broaden my mind and heart. I love meeting and connecting with people, delighting in things we have in common and learning from our differences. The world is an incredible place and I feel grateful every day for being able to exist in it!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I haven't surfed nor hosted, but I have answered quite a few messages from people traveling to LA looking for recommendations for things to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Honestly, I haven't done a lot of couchsurfing! But I'm eager to try it out. I feel like I can meet great people and see the world in a completely different way than I have in the past when I've stayed in hotels.

Travel! (obviously) and learning about new places, meeting people, and all that goes along with travel. I love all sorts of active stuff - hiking, biking, kayaking, you name it. Food and beverages - especially beer - are things I love to appreciate and discover. I like movies and TV, but not as much as most other Americans (which is ironic because I work in TV). I love music, especially seeing live shows. I dabble in photography and do a little bit of videography outside of work as well.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I'd say the most magical day I've had on earth (besides amazing moments with friends and family) was the day I spent at an elephant sanctuary in Laos with a formerly abused elephant named Mae. I fed her, walked with her through the jungle for a couple hours and bathed her in the river. I felt so connected to her and so amazed at her gentleness and strength.

My degree is in Art History, so I have a fair amount of knowledge there...

I'm also somewhat well-traveled and have been travel obsessed since I was a kid. Both my parents work in the travel business and I grew up around it. I'm a geography whiz and I can tell you the best routes to take, places to stay and things to do in most countries, even the ones I've not been to yet!

I work in reality TV and people usually love hearing my crazy stories from Hollywood....though I am definitely not the Hollywood type and while I'm amused and fascinated by the culture of this town, I do think that most of these people are way too out of touch with reality and the rest of the world. But if you want to know the reality of reality TV.....I have LOTS to share!

I'm a writer and I like helping people express themselves on paper if they're struggling. I can proofread or help you say what you want to say using the written word, especially if English isn't your first language.
