Overview
About Me
I am a college student studying History (with minors in Biochemistry and Spanish) as well as Pre-Medicine (I hope to be an OB/Gyn). I am passionate, responsible, and adventurous. I am mature and sometimes reserved, but I also like to be goofy and have fun. I enjoy hiking, long walks, knitting, baking, and rock climbing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had only wonderful experiences as a guest so far, and now that I've started couch surfing I don't want to go back to staying in hostels unless I have to. I feel like I get such a deeper, richer experience of the place I'm visiting while staying with a local, and the friendships I've made while couch surfing have been the highlights of those trips. Indeed, I will probably remember the experiences I had with my hosts better than most of the sights I visited. I like traveling alone for the freedom and flexibility it gives me, but sometimes it gets lonely, and it's been wonderful to have someone to talk to and laugh with as a couchsurfer.
Interests
Hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, baking, knitting, sewing, and of course travel. I also love learning, in or out of school. I am particularly interested in art history (especially Impressionism), Jewish history (especially Sephardic Jews), and Latin American colonial history (especially regarding race relations). Okay, yes, I'm a nerd. I also very much enjoy dancing, though I would not list it among my talents. :]

Music, Movies, and Books
I particularly like indie-rock and indie-pop, as well as a range of other genres from alternative to American country. Currently I listen to a lot of Artic Monkeys, the Kooks, and Taylor Swift's newest album. Regina Spektor is among my favorite artists.
As for movies, I really like science fiction. Action and romantic comedies I also enjoy. I like movies that make me feel somehow, and rather dislike crude humor.
Currently I am reading the Game of Thrones series... :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Volcan Cotopaxi in Ecuador.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to bake a pie or how to knit a hat. I'd love to learn how to cook different cultural dishes, or how to dance tango, salsa, or rumba.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good listener, meaningful conversation, a fresh perspective, and an extra pair of hands in the kitchen.
