Overview
About Me
I'm a curious person, interested in all thing's worldly and fantastic. Hailing from the great city of New Orleans, LA (google 'Mardi Gras' ;)), I've had my fair share of excitement at home, but I've also been all around the US, driving cross-country twice (hitting most of the major National Parks), and visited half of the states in the country (including Alaska,!!).
I saw the world around me was HUGE and moving and alive. I wanted to be a part of that. And that was the start of my latest journey, which has been amazing so far. I'm a pretty happy go-lucky kind of person, love sharing travel stories, and making friends out of strangers, b/c we're all the same, essentially.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to get out the box of hostels and tourists bars, and guided walking tours, and to experience travel organically. I'm seeking to gain knowledge/character through appreciation and understanding of different cultures. Meeting up with locals, and learning about their city from a local standpoint, adds a depth to a journey. I know that from living in NoLa my whole life. I can show people things that no tour guide knows about.
I've experienced some of that with WWOOFing. Today is my last day in this quaint farming village by the sea. It's been magical, but I need to get some mud back on my travel boots. Hope to meet some cool people very soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once worked in Nanek, AK for two months (7 days a week), packaging salmon roe for export to Japan. Long two months, but got to work with Aboriginal Alaskan natives. My roommate was the granddaughter of a village elder. Awesome experience. Even learned some Japanese.
