My name is Lira.
I’m a Russian exchange student currently staying in America (Florence, Al) and studying in University of North Alabama (UNA).

My main hobby is blogging. I write about the life of an exchange student, comparing Russian and American culture. I love to share my life thoughts and get feedback from people.

To be honest, I'm not a big traveler, but I know that one day I will have the whole list of countries I've visited.
For this moment they are England, America, Thailand, Russia and Turkey.

The biggest pleaser for me in life is people. People change my mindset, open up new places and cultures. People inspire me and motivate to work or develop in the sphere I've never thought before.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

It is hard to touch the real American culture and people while staying in a hotel and visiting only tourist attractions. I want to see and experience a real life, local people and see the city from the other angle than a tourist.

I don’t know what better way can be to do it then staying and spending time with someone who has been living there for a long time.
As I mentioned before, people are everything for me. That’s why I’m here, looking for you (the one, who is reading this message).

My top three of them are “Inception” and “Memento” directed by Christopher Nolan, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” directed by Ben Stiller.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I was a camp tutor and worked with kids that came from problematic families. They changed my whole world.
I will always remember words of 30 children: “Lira, you made these 21 days unforgettable for us!”
