I am Lisa, 27 years old and from Germany. Me and my boyfriend Linus, also 26 and from Germany, just finished studying and are taking the opportunity to travel for a whole year South East Asia and Oceania, before we start working.
Neither of us has used Couchsurfing before, we are bloody newbies to this platform.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

November 16th we will start our New Zealand-journey.
We're keen to get to know locals and get a glimpse of how they see their city and discover places not just as tourists but as friends of local people.

So far we have been traveling for 4 months and have been to Indonesia for 2 months and to Malaysia and Thailand each for 1 month. Our next destination is going to be New Zealand. We hope to go on some (easy to moderate) hikes, dip into lakes and rivers for swimming and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Since we never stayed long in one place, I miss nurturing human connections on a regular Real-Life-Meeting basis and would love to make new friends, get to know you and share time together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a sucker for pop music! I just love a catchy song, you can both dance and cry to. I also like listening to hip-hop, rap, alternative rock, singer songwriter, indie and some electronic beats.

Regarding books and film, I don't read and watch that much, but I love a heartwarming story or something with a twist to it. With flm and TV, a good comedy is always a fit for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When we were in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, we met a women at a café and had a wonderful conversation, so we met several times for coffee in that same café and just shared thoughts and feelings on life and it was beautiful to me, to have such honest, deep and meaningful conversations with someone, I just met. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

It's our first time traveling and being so far away from home for so long. The longest real-life connection to other people we had, during the last 3 months, were like 5 days at maximum and I personally, would love to have real-life friends and on a daily basis again. I live for human connection and I feel this is something I am kind of missing right now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to spend time together, be it a walk or trip, cooking and eating together, having conversations about cultural differences and similarities, learning about how your experience of living is like.

If you like to, I also enjoy cooking for other people (including cleaning up afterwards). Generally, we'll help keep the space clean and tidy and can help with chores.

I am currently learning the Russian language, but I am just at the beginning.
