Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm 33 from the UK. I left my job with my (now) fiancé John, in August 2015 and headed to Australia via Singapore where we explored for a few days. We stayed in Sydney for 3 weeks helpxing, then headed to Cairns before helpxing again near Port Douglas for 4 weeks. We then travelling down the coast to Brisbane (seeing the Whitsundays etc) before heading to Orlando and completed our first couch surfing experience in Clearwater. Next, we a few nights in Copenhagen, then Thailand before returning to Australia to find work. (first Brisbane, then a random van relocation to Melbourne via Canberra) We're now waiting on our visa to find a temporary home in Sydney.

This was my first time travelling (although I've been on holiday to a few places), whereas John has lived in Australia before and done some travelling in Asia and the US.

We both love animals, like cooking and enjoy being sociable. John is really into fitness, but we also both love junk food! We enjoy exploring new places. We love hosting in our own home, such as Saturday afternoon BBQs, dinner parties or Halloween parties (although it's been a little while :( ). Just as happy spending an evening in a bar though and enjoy a good cocktail. We also love films and go to the cinema quite a bit. We don't smoke but enjoy social drinks and the odd random night out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently travelling with my fiancé John, we've been helpxing and housesitting and thought we'd give couchsurfing a go. Our first experience was in Clearwater and it was really good! We'd love to meet new people in Sydney as we'll be living here and would like to make new friends but also enjoy the cultural exchange.

Saw dolphins in the wild - Watched wild dolphins off a boat in Key West and also watched them surf the waves of Little Toot boat in Clearwater.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to help with English exchange. Would love to learn to cook new dishes and can show you what I can cook. Would love to share stories of travels, especially listen to your adventures. We will have a spare bedroom when back in the UK, so could look at hosting then. If we get a place in Sydney we might be able to host here too!
