I studied anthropology and linguistics at university because I love meeting new people and learning from them. I love travel so I moved to Madrid after university and taught English, then returned to the UK and became a qualified primary teacher here. My real passion has always been snowboarding, so this year I've decided to give myself a little break from the career and go off in the search of awesome snow, chilled people and amazing times in Canada. I have a working holiday visa that is valid for the next 2 years, but I'm going to start with a Winter in BC or Alberta and take it from there.

For music anything I can dance to or a lot of chilled stuff too into rocky/indie type stuff love finding new local bands, but love a good dj set too especially if its got bongos involved (shaka loves you). Movies; I love horror and comedy will watch a chick flick if I'm in the right company love a bit of action or sci fi too. Books; I love anything that makes me think, or anything that has those awesome sentences that just get it right...I write a little myself so always looking for what makes a book great....don't really have any favourite authors but I'm reading The establishment right now and its thought provoking.

Canoed the great glen way from Fort William to Inverness including the length of Loch Ness (felt like paddling a bath tub in a head wind most of the time but it was fun).

I love sharing work out and yoga practice with friends and strangers, quite partial to leading a morning yoga session for anyone who wants to join in (I'm no expert but I think I can make up pretty good sequences that flow on the spot), I used to get paid to make learning English fun, wouldn't say I am at any level to teach Spanish though. I'm pretty good at cooking and mixing flavours I can make some really exciting salads, but also I make some amazing comfort food with all sorts of yummy things....I can make a victoria sandwich and most of the cakes that sprout from that from memory (I used to swap cooking lessons for spanish lessons when I lived in Madrid). I think my favourite thing to share and learn from others though is our stories, nothing beats hearing or telling a good story heard or told for the first time, it gives a little insight into a person and creates a connection between people that can then have an impact on their lives. This is why I love meeting new people!
