About Me

CURRENT MISSION

currently on a mission to photograph squats and ghost towns across Europe. Hoping to create something about the wider political & economic situation in Europe (sounds serious I know but I'm going to have some time off too)

ABOUT ME

I'm a photographer with an interest in art, politics, conversation, alternative lifestyles and generally just trying to live a more interesting life.
Easily amused, not easily offended, curious about almost everything (apart from shopping and celebrity) I like to explore ideas and enjoy the absurdity of life.

PHILOSOPHY

Use your brain, your eyes, your ears, try not to assume too much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have a house at the moment, I've been touring Europe for the last year documenting some interesting places. As soon as I have a house I'll be offering my couch, but right now, as a member of the couchless I need places to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only used couchsurfing a couple of times, but they were amazing experiences meeting really warm and interesting people, sharing our ideas and stories and being given a local's perspective on the place.
The people I have met so far have been unfailingly generous and welcoming and I feel honoured to have met them and to have the pleasure of being looked after by them.

Interests

I like conversation, listening to music, walking about with my camera, eating, reading, laughing, dancing, walking about without my camera, reading some more, looking at art, arguing about the purpose and value of art, arguing about the purpose and value of everything else, learning about anything I don't know, drinking wine, meeting interesting people, playing with kittens, walking, and also walking some more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top four films: Harvey, Twelve Angry Men, Man of Lamancha, Men In Black
Authors: Terry Pratchet, Will Self, Julian Barnes, Kurt Vonnegut, Louis De Bernier, Zadie Smith,
Best recent book read: White Noise by Don DeLilo
Music: Hip Hop (De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Busdriver, Deltron 3030, Jurassic Five, Abdomina & Format etc, NOT bling-bling misogynistic nonsense), folk, funk, breakbeat - basically anything apart from pop, house and garage.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed three mountains in three days. Had never climbed before. Saw further than I've ever seen before. Looked down on snow-capped peaks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help with English skills, photography, photoshop, I know some stories from British history that I'm always happy to tell over a glass of wine.

Keen to learn Spanish, Science and more World History.
