About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To visit Egypt and France in Oct. with Bruce my boyfriend! (We don't need a place to stay, but would love to meet up with local people for coffee or a meal.) To live the poetic life. To have a little or big adventure every day. To do things I'm scared of doing. To find beauty and document it daily - in writing, photography, painting, films. To live a good and meaningful life!

ABOUT ME

I am a writer / artist who loves to travel and who feeds on adventure. I love epic, kick-ass cross country trips; local cool places where folks let down their hair; and just connecting with people. I take pictures and write all the time. Life is rockbottomly good, and I'm grabbing it by the shorthairs!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to keep it real. To share the poetic word. To listen. To overcome my own oppression and live a freely positive, upwardly spiraling life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I stay with great people and share my good energy, and I host when I can. At the very moment, I have some room available.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to share and partake of home hospitality (but not on this site) when I worked at a peace organization and also when I volunteered in the social justice field. Since joining here, I have met some really cool people and I've grown from the experience. I enjoy meeting new people for coffee or a tall cool one.

Best experience list:
- 3-day sailing / fishing trips in haiti on the haitian-made sailboat, the lady lise.

- backpacking in switzerland, omg, in college
- having a snow day in nyack new york - walking through snow storms taking pictures
- london - any time, love it love it love it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yes!! To all three! I facilitate writing workshops and share my work whenever possible. I have readings and shows of my poetry and art, and table reads of my scripts from time to time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could meet up with you for a coffee or a beer in downtown Savannah. I can share some fun stories about growing up here, and some of the history. We could walk around the squares if you want.

I MIGHT have (sporadically and with notice) a private place you can stay for up to two nights, probably no more than two or three people. It is in the country with no public transportation, 12 miles from Savannah, GA. There is no, repeat no, furniture in there and probably no a/c. It is rustic, simple and quiet with gorgeous trees and no one to bother you. The electricity is turned off at the moment but I could run a cord over there for you. So really it would be like camping.

I have plenty of room to pitch tents in the fenced yard but unless you are used to this hot, humid July/August weather in the deep South, I wouldn't try it. I'm used to the weather and because of the overhanging trees, I haven't had to use my a/c yet this year - only fans.

The house is 5 miles south of the very southern small town of Hardeeville, SC, right off I-95, and a 20 minute drive to Savannah.
