CURRENT MISSION

I am continuing to discover ME after a road trip across the States, mainly in the west and 6 mths in Mexico. I am redefining myself spiritually emotionally socially and economically. What joy life is!

ABOUT ME

I am a Dallas girl, born and bred. Met, married and had a family with a lovely English husband. Raised a wonderful, now grown family in England; London and Cheltenham. Have recently traveled and discovered parts of America that I've only seen briefly as a child or in the movies. My wish list of places to experience is very long. CouchSurfing is a dream come true for me as it marries economy, lovely people and new and interesting places on this beautiful earth of ours. Have now returned to England, the marriage and the family..... all is good with the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a very open, friendly and loving person. I strive to accept people as they are and treat them with kindness, honesty and honour. I strive to not hold grudges and to let people BE. This isn't always easy, and is often very hard. Bought lessons, these are the ones I learn from. I like to surround myself with similar people of all ages. Life is a fascinating joyous journey and I am so blessed to be participating in it on such a level.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I may be able to host to other couch surfers. Even if unable to do that ( if husband isn't keen!) I will offer my friendship and advise to fellow CS members who are in or plan on coming in to the beautiful Cotwolds where I live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was honoured with 3 wonderful CS hosts during my US road trip and I have sung your praises to all who will listen! Nigel and I have been able to host a select few couch surfers---not easy during the house re-model----it's all good---and a blessing to be sure.

Interests

I am a very optimistic, fiercely spiritual person. I am open to new people and places and very interested in others stories and lives. I love sharing stories and interests.I don't smoke or drink and I eat quite healthily and like to keep myself fit.I love the out of doors and nature. I love forests, hills, mountains and the sea. I LOVE sunrises and sunsets and BIG SKIES! I LOVE music, live and recorded. I love to read and watch a good movie. I love my husband, our children and grandchildren and my family of origin. I have many many friends whom I care deeply for. My life is one blessing after another.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love lots of different kinds of movies!! Old B& W Hitchcock thrillers, anything with Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn! I LOVE westerns...old and modern; Dances with Wolves, Last of the Mohicans, Ghost, Legends of the Fall, Michael, Around the Bend, Comedies; Four Weddings, About a Boy etc.... quite eclectic.
Music.... anything in the genre of 60’s, Rock and Soul and Folk and C & W.... New Age..... Classical.... quite varied.... it IS a PASSION of mine!!

Books, also varied; I love mysteries in the genre of Harlen Coben, Lisa Gardner and Sandra Brown, etc I love biographies , and I always have at least ONE metaphysical one on the go at the same time as my novel/biography. I read daily for pleasure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am still employed as a community care worker, self employed now within a smashing team of carers who support each other while we care for those who need a helping hand in their daily lives. It’s a blessing to be of service. I also volunteer at a lovely charity shop nearby, and thoroughly enjoy chatting to our customers and endeavouring to contribute to the wonderful charity which is locally based. Through the years and my Spiritual search I have learned a few things. First and foremost is " If it's not love, it's fear, which is a call to love." That is HUGE in my life! I also try to let go of any and all ill feelings and resentments as they arise, as to harbour them hurts only ME! I truly expect a miracle every day and do my part by giving only love, openness, friendship, kindness and lo and behold, that is what is returned to me. Ah, the act of karma...... old and proven.... and REAL.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I sometimes offer my home which is a fun, loving and kind home, nowadays with a single bedroom which is currently set up for our visiting grandchildren with a bunk bed and a double bedroom , a bathroom across the hall with a big window toward the green hills that surround Cheltenham.
I and my husband have lived in Cheltenham for almost 30 years so we can advise you on many aspects of our lovely town and area in general.
