Hi there! I'm Lis and I'm from Holland. I work in Sydney and like to travel and explore every now and then.
Before I came to Australia, I travelled Europe and Southeast Asia and in between I was working to save money for my travels. What I like about travelling the most is getting out of your comfort zone, meeting loads of different people and getting to know about other cultures.
I like to go out for a beer, dinner and have a good chat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started using CS when I was travelling Europe and hosted a couple of people in my hometown. I wouldn't have seen places and done things without CS and met so many people from all over the world! I think CS is the best way to experience another culture and find out the best local places to visit in a city.

Interests

I like to spend time with my friends. Mostly we eat together, going out for a beer or just hang around!
I'm also really into sports. I like all kind of sports, but especially kickboxing and tennis.
Annnd, if there's some time left, I enjoy to cook. Trying new things, reading about it or just watching cooking programs: I like it all! The Dutch kitchen isn't my favourite unfortunately, but luckily we also have other food than patatoes, milk and cheese!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I could write down loads of experiences! But if I have to choose one.., it will my slow boat experience in Laos. Just imagine: 2 full days on a boat, surrounded by other backpackers, drinking beers, making music and playing cards. Amazing, haha!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could learn you a lot about Holland. For example, that there's more than Amsterdam, I've never worn clogs and Holland and the Netherlands are the same ;).
Thereby I could learn you how to play tennis, the Dutch basics and share my travel experiences!
