Overview
About Me
I’m Litu Mohiuddin — a British chef and food writer exploring how migration has shaped the world’s curry traditions. My background lies in sustainable, migration-inspired cuisine, and a couple of my previous restaurants have been featured in the Michelin Guide. These days, however, the kitchen is the road.
Since June 2024, I’ve been traveling along the old spice routes — from South Asia and East Africa to the Middle East, Europe, and now across the United States. This journey forms the foundation of my upcoming book, From Kari to Curry, which traces how spices and people carry stories across borders, deconstructing the evolution of curry through migration, trade, and colonial encounter.
Couchsurfing has become a meaningful part of this journey, especially across the U.S., where genuine connection and shared hospitality have defined my experience. I love exchanging stories, meals, and everyday moments — the things that keep travel deeply human.
I travel with a small pouch of spices collected along the way and love cooking for my hosts — simple, soulful dishes rooted in memory and a no-waste philosophy. In return, I cherish the chance to listen, learn, and share stories from the road.
If you have space for a short stay, your generosity would truly mean the world to me.
