Overview
About Me
A former frequent traveller, I grew up in a family that relocated every 2-4 years and I continued the pattern for a while on my own into adulthood. I have a career that I really love which has kept me very grounded in Chicago for the past 5 years and I somehow seem to have acquired a rather large garden and a random assortment of pets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to host and/or meet up with travelers to explore my city in a fresh way AND I'd like to start traveling more often again myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
(1) Blues and indie folk/country (I picked the right city)
(2) Old ones: in particular, Bringing Up Baby and The Thin Man series (favorite theater in Chicago is The Music Box)
(3) Like asking a parent to pick a favorite child. Moby Dick and The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay would be among my deserted island picks.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Shared so much personal information with a stranger.
Teach, Learn, Share
What would you like to know? I'm a librarian so I can probably help you find it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My family's from the southern United States originally so I make some pretty decent soul food. I'm handy with plants, animals and seem to know a bit about books.
