About Me

CURRENT MISSION

become a good architect and explore the world

ABOUT ME

I'm interested in very many things, so many that sometimes I become confused by choosing my priorities. Well, the main priority has been chosen - it is architecture which includes pieces of rather many things that I'm interested in. So I'm eager to learn new things - to be learning all the time to understand me and the world around me.
I can be calm, but if there happens something very interesting or I'm just with the people I like and I feel free with I can become very active just of the joy of life, of being happy to be with them, to talk, to do crazy things... My life's philosophy is to try to find good things in everything even if it is something small and for other people insignificant - it can load me with lots of the energy of joy. So basically I really don't know what the boredom is because there is always something to be happy about, something interesting to see, to do, to think about...
For example the music - for me it is a mean for obtaining inspiration and sort of intellectual discussion with myself or somebody else.
While travelling I'm interested to obtain new inspirations in the field of architecture and art, as well as simply to see the people, nature, the environment, and merge with it by trying to understand it.

PHILOSOPHY

Be in the moment and always remember that whatever you're feeling - you can find a thing that's funny enough or simply enjoyable in it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to meet new people and to tell stories about Latvian culture to them, traditions because I think it is really particular and interesting, as well as simply meeting them and talking about the subjects I'm interested in. So conversations for a cup of tee are always welcome by me in my favorite city - Riga if only I'm available.

Some summers ago I had a really wonderful experience by being hosted in Barcelona, and I'm looking forward to meeting such nice people in future too.
Couchsurfing is one of the most wonderful ways to travel!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the best holidays in my life using CS in Barcelona!
Besides that I've met some really wonderful people in Riga thru CS, some of them have become very close friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
by P. Greenaway, D. Lynch, J. Cocteau, T. Burton, Q. Tarantino...

Music (more in my last.fm blog: http://www.last.fm/user/Palllada):
Mainly it is rock (rock in opposition, psychedelic, progressive, classic, southern, artrock, jazzrock, horrorrock), but I'm also a deep lover of classical music (D. Shostakovich, Messian, F. Chopin, F. Lizt, S. Prokofiev, M. Musorgskiy, B. Britten and others). One of my favorite musicians - FRANK ZAPPA who implies in his music very many music styles, and, in addition, knows how to joke strongly about them.

Books (more in my shelfari blog: http://www.shelfari.com/Palllada):
by H. Hesse, T. Mann, M. Bulgakov, K. Hamsun, K. Vonnegut and many others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everything is relative. But for me one of the most magnificent things to be seen was the cities of Tokyo with its ultra modernity and of Kyoto with its spiritual gardens.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always trying to learn. What I know (or, more precisely, the things I have a little idea about) I realise during the conversations. I like sharing the impressions about the things I have seen/heard/sensed. But as a young architect and architecture history lover I can show some interesting corners of Riga.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
