About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To journey life's challenges, to live in the moment, to find peace, to create an everlasting happiness, to see the world, to grow in its shadow, to become unimaginably cultured, to learn new languages, to never stop learning, to never stop living.

ABOUT ME

I am inspired, thoughtful, and always seeking a new opportunity to learn, While I can be very social, I also enjoy moments to myself. I know that I have the intelligence and determination to go out and get anything I want in life. Yet, I find that my "wants" in life is a very simple and modest list. I have no appreciation for money, but understand it is what makes the world go round and there is very little avoiding it. I have been through some very significant lows in my life, coupled with only a few highs. I am determined to spend the rest of my life searching for what truly makes me happy and will stop at nothing to find it. I have a very well rounded perspective on things, considering the circumstances of my life to this point, that most people don't experience for a significant amount of their lives. I have a desire to learn, about everything and anything, and don't ever want to stop.

PHILOSOPHY

I have been at the hands of death a time or two before. It gives me an incredible perspective on life. I know that it is fleeting and it is short. Even if I live 100 years on this world, in the scheme of time, and in the scheme of my life, 100 years is an instant. I concern myself as little as possible with jobs, money and material possessions. I know that these can be important to survive the daily challenges life has to offer but are not the reasons I live my life.
I find I have simple goals for life. First, and most importantly, is to have children (though not for a few years, at least). I find that there is no greater measure in life of who we are than by who our children turn out to be. The magic that a child brings into a life is beautiful and daunting but perhaps the greatest test life can offer. Another is to travel the world. I am tired of learning and hearing about things through a computer or television screen that has been produced through another person's outlook. I want to see the world, as it is, through my own outlook. There are other goals, but none so important as these.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking to embark on some serious traveling for, at minimum, the next five years of my life. I may not always be in a position to offer somewhere to sleep, I will always be in a position to meet and talk, wherever I am. I love meeting new people. So even if it's just a time to sit and talk about anything, I am offering my services. On the other hand, I may find myself in need of conversation, a bed, or just a cup of coffee from time to time, as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I currently have yet to take advantage of the bounties couchsurfing has to offer, though I may very shortly. I created my CS profile over a year ago and am only now investing in it. Now, finally in a position to utilize it, I intend to.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think movies are very entertaining, but I like to leave it at that. I don't watch to much movies or television anymore. Aside from sports, which I will always watch if I can, there's not much reason for me to even turn the television on.
Now, music is different. Music is one of the greatest tools we have in life. It is defining and purposeful at any juncture in life. It speaks to all emotions. And it carries me. I could not imagine a world without music. While I listen to most genres, I gravitate towards that which is soothing, mellow, and has a good message. Simple is not always bad.
And books are half the reason why I stand where I do today. Books have been my window to worlds I used to only dream of. Literature encapsulates thoughts on paper. While there may never be a way to switch minds with someone for a day, books offer our best chances at that.
