ABOUT ME

I am a native of Green Island Cove, a community consisting of 163 people in rural Newfoundland and Labrador. My university experiences enabled me to study and work abroad, both in the UK and the Czech Republic. I've since travelled to 28 countries.

I'm an easy going guy with a great sense of humor. I love music, stories and learning from other people.

I am currently employed as a Client Services Officer with Nortip Community Business Development Corporation with an aim to “Build Stronger Communities” by creating and maintaining employment through business services, such as financing, skill enhancements, technical assistance, counselling and community economic development.

I volunteer with Nordic Economic Development Corporation (Director), Straits-St. Barbe Chronic Care Corporation (vice-President), Junior Achievement (Regional Chair) and co-Chair of Emerging Leaders and Director with Canadian Community Economic Development Network (cCEDnet).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted Couch Surfers and have been hosted. As well, I've travelled with other couch surfers. It has been a wonderful experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couple of German girls, which was a real delight having them stay. We talked much over a glass of wine and a large meal.

I was introduced to Couch Surfing indirectly through a member of a committee who knew someone travelling to Newfoundland. We were put in contact and decided we would travel to St.Pierre-Miquelon. I made arrangements to pick up this person I have never met at the airport. We ended up coach surfing in St. Pierre. Incredible time! The host, ended up coming to my house a few months later. It was great!
